Custom Intelligence has suspected a man of oil theft from the Pak-Arab Oil Refinery for many years.
There was a major operation in Karachi against the main suspect, Lutf Ali Siyal, and his ten companions.
According to the report, thieves built a 174-foot-long tunnel from the warehouse to the main supply pipe line at Port Qasim, where the oil reserves were diverted and filled in tankers that were parked in the warehouse. And then they sold out in billions of rupees.
Out of 10 companions, eight were bailed out immediately after their arrest. Siyal himself is on six days of remand, and only one is in jail.
