LPG vendors led by the All Punjab LPG Distributors protested against the district government in front of the Lahore Press Club. The protest was the outcome of a crackdown on LPG vendors by the district government.
The president of All Punjab LPG Distributors cried about the negligence of the commissioner and deputy commissioner in responding to the complaints of distributors.
Abdullah, the spokesperson for All Punjab LPG Distributors, stated, “The district administration is targeting shopkeepers which is unfair.” He further said that the crackdown increased the gas crisis for consumers and suppliers.
The protestors were informed that the harsh behavior of the district government leads to a shortage of gas supply and puts consumers in trouble who rely on LPG.
The purpose of the crackdown was to ensure safety standards. But the treatment of the district government toward shopkeepers is harsh and unacceptable; it only aggravates the problems of consumers and vendors.
All Punjab LPG distributors demanded a meeting with the district government to take measures that ensure safety without harming their businesses.
