NEPRA conducted hearing on KE’s tariff petition

Karachi Electric (KE) submitted a petition to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority, NEPRA, for a multi-year tariff from FY2023-24 to FY2029-30 to enhance KE’s distribution, transmission, and supply to meet the ever-growing needs of electricity in the city.

KE submitted the petition to make KE more productive by installing power plants and grid stations so that KE ensures a reliable power supply. The monthly bill of consumers will be charged on the basis of the uniform tariff policy, which is equal throughout Pakistan.

NEPRA approved $2 billion for KE to install new power plants and increase the use of renewable and indigenous energy sources. Ke further suggested the annual and quarterly release of tariffs according to economic changes. to make it more cost-effective. 

KE is making all possible efforts to make the city self-sufficient in its electricity supply. Now it depends on the timely approval of the petition so that the city will prosper.   .
