Karachi has been under an intense heatwave for the last three days. On Monday, the temperature rose to 44 C, and Karachi’s “feel-like” temperature was 51 C, which is unbearable and leading to fatalities. The number of deaths is increasing every day and reached 300 on Monday.
The scorching heat wave is not only affecting humans, but animals are suffering too. The death toll of animals in Karachi reached 1000. Farmers are concerned for their live stock because of the low production of milk.
PakWeather reported that the heat wave will continue for at least two more days. The temperature will remain between 40 and 48 °C. The government asked citizens to cope with the situation by drinking more water and juice.
