The Mirpur Intermediate and Secondary Education Board (MIB) has postponed the current intermediate examinations due to the difficult situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
The board was notified in a letter that the test formerly planned for May 13 will now take place on May 25. Protests over inflation have raged in AJK for the previous two days.
PM Shehbaz expresses his concerns and states that he has spoken with the Azad Kashmir Prime Minister and asked his party’s leadership to meet with the leaders of the action committee. He advised all parties to use peaceful measures to address their issues.
The AJK administration declared a public holiday across the area in response to the violent rallies. The government released an announcement stating that all offices and educational institutions will be closed on Monday.
